The International School of Beijing teaches approximately 1,650 aged 3 to 18 years old students from over 50 nationalities around the world. Class sizes range from 12 to 22 students depending on their grade and subject. The languages taught include English, Chinese, French and Spanish with English being the primary teaching language. In 2016/17 ISB introduced its Dual-Language program (English & Chinese) to its PreK 3 & 4 program and will expand to the Kindergarten program in 2017/18. ISB offers over 100 after school activities (ASAs) to students including athletics, choir, orchestra, theatrical production, Wu Shu, Design Tech, Chinese folk music, Chinese painting and global issues group etc. Nurse’s clinics are available in each school division. School lunch features a diverse range of Western, Chinese, and vegetarian meals, including set meals, a la carte, snacks, and drinks for RMB 17 to RMB 35 per day.
ISB is situated on a 32-acre campus in Shunyi district, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Beijing and close to popular expatriate residential compounds. Two purpose-built sports domes sit side-by-side over 8,500 square meters. In addition, ISB has four fully-equipped gymnasiums (one with a climbing wall); baseball and softball diamonds; two full-sized turf soccer fields; and an aquatics center with a 25-meter pool and diving boards.
In the main school building are 12 state-of-the-art science labs, a student cooking lab, a visual arts wing in the middle and high school, and art studios in elementary school. The performing arts wing consists of a 600-seat theater, Black Box theater, rehearsal space, and studio stage. The main school building also has two library-media centers with more than 82,000 volumes and over 160 magazine subscriptions. ISB supports a one-to-one MacBook laptop program for each student in grades 2 through 12. A pharmaceutical grade (H-14) air filtration system ensures exceptionally high air quality in all our indoor areas. In 2015-16, ISB opened six new flexible learning spaces that optimize 21st century learning, namely three ‘collaboratories,’ two Maker Spaces, and their new ISB Futures Academy facilities.
ICT integration is happening at all times at ISB and will support and complement the curriculum outcomes of the content area in which it is used. ICT facilitates learning and promotes higher level thinking skills, stimulating students to express their creativity and solve authentic problems. ISB supports a one-to-one student Macbook laptop program.

ISB coordinates an optional bus service with an outside contractor to transport students to and from school. The annual fees for this service varies from RMB 10,290 – 16,680 depending on the distance traveled. (2016-17 Academic Year).
ISB has a very active Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) with other 50 regular members.
